Job Description
The 2027 Commercial Banking Development Program is an analyst-focused opportunity with Western Alliance Bank in Phoenix, AZ (onsite). The Credit Analyst role supports credit analysis with a specific focus on Hotel Franchise Finance, helping build and maintain the financial foundation used by loan officers and senior leadership.
In this program, you will prepare credit materials, support credit administration work tied to risk and collateral review, and help keep bank systems and client documentation aligned as transactions and reporting needs arise.
Hotel Franchise Finance Focus
- Join a fast-paced hotel lending team at one of the largest hotel lending platforms in the United States.
- Work with a portfolio of over $5 billion in hotel assets and exposure to a range of hotel types and major hotel ownership groups across the country.
What You’ll Do
- Spread, manage, and maintain financial background information on present and prospective customers.
- Develop credit studies for Loan Officers, the Chief Credit Officer, and other Executive Management.
- Manage spread assignments, perform financial analyses, and maintain related records and files.
- Prepare a variety of credit department reports.
- Support the Credit Administration team in evaluating credit and collateral information to determine lending risk.
- Collect, organize, and analyze company financials to support Bank compliance and update the Bank’s systems accordingly.
- Work directly with clients to resolve compliance issues and address operational inquiries.
- Review client financials and perform sensitivity analysis to evaluate credit risk in connection with Bank structures.
- Prepare in-depth reports that include plans of action based on qualitative and quantitative research.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to help execute treasury management products, foreign exchange instruments, derivatives, and related legal documents.
- Produce loan packages for both new and restructured loans.
- Facilitate reporting and requests on behalf of the Bank with third parties such as field auditors and appraisers.
- Monitor loan disbursements to ensure compliance with Bank regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an Accounting course.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Interest in working in Commercial Banking.
- Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
- Entry-level speaking and writing communication skills.
