Director Finance - Medical Group

Drive enterprise financial leadership for the Kettering Health Medical Group, overseeing finance operations, physician compensation processes, reporting, budgeting, and capital spend.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Medical Group finance department analyst team and manage day-to-day finance operations
• Partner with the Operations team to fulfill financial requests and provide supporting data
• Ensure organizational financial policies and procedures align with GAAP and KH requirements
• Collaborate with the contracting team to maintain consistent compensation agreements across practices and service lines
• Oversee monthly physician productivity payment processing, including submission to payroll
• Develop and oversee financial education and training for new and existing leadership and practices
• Serve as lead for the hiring control committee to manage staffing costs against budget and benchmark
• Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent financial statements and reports are provided to KHMG Leadership and practices
• Build and implement physician compensation models and productivity wRVU schedules
• Develop and present practice financial assessments to KHMG Leadership and Operations on a monthly basis
• Provide oversight for the KHMG monthly financial close process, including balance sheet and P&L review
• Implement financial reporting and metrics for practices tied to financial and revenue cycle key performance indicators
• Prepare and oversee the annual operations budget for 150+ practices and administrative departments, including volume, revenue, labor, and expense
• Monitor and oversee capital spend to budget
• Develop and present proforma cost impact analysis to leadership
• Coordinate with operational leaders to review initiative impacts in preparation for new opportunities
• Take a leadership role in KHMG financial initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• Master’s Degree (MBA) preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a financial leadership position required
• 3 years within a medical group or hospital-based physician network required
• Experience managing physician compensation plans
• Experience managing physician billing and collections
• Experience developing business plans and budget management
• Excellent physician relationship and communication skills required
• CPA preferred
