Job Description

City Foods is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the company’s financial operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance & Administration, you will manage accounting and reporting across a multi-site footprint while partnering to support forecasting, budgeting, controls, and performance initiatives.

This onsite role is based in Chicago, IL, with an estimated salary range of USD 140,000 - 175,000 per year. The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience, along with a foundation in accounting or finance.

What you’ll do

  • Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities across a multi-site operation.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and related reporting.
  • Analyze monthly and annual results, identify key business drivers, explain variances, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop financial forecasts, including projections related to profitability, operational efficiencies, production capacity, and returns.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance financial dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to support decision-making.
  • Oversee budgeting processes, financial controls, and transaction monitoring across multiple divisions, profit centers, cost centers, and expense centers.
  • Track and manage government grant and subsidy programs.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for the Controller and accounting team members.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support business performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation.
  • 7–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing accounting teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to develop and improve financial reporting, operational metrics, and performance indicators.
