Job Description

Macon Realty Company, LLC is seeking a Director of Finance to lead core financial operations across planning, reporting, analysis, and compliance. This remote role focuses on strengthening financial strategy, overseeing accounting and treasury functions, and supporting executive decision-making through clear, accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned to organizational objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Direct accounting operations covering general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and IAS (International Accounting Standards).
  • Manage regulatory reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of financial statements while meeting industry-specific compliance obligations.
  • Oversee treasury management activities, including cash flow analysis, investment management, risk assessment, and banking relationship management to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
  • Build and maintain financial models for projections and scenario analysis, using advanced data analytics tools and Excel data analysis techniques to support decision-making.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed financial reports, interpret complex financial data, and communicate insights to executive leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Direct risk analysis processes to identify potential financial threats and implement mitigation strategies that protect organizational assets.
  • Supervise and develop the finance team through mentorship, professional development, and accountability for operational excellence across finance functions.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to evaluate new initiatives, investment opportunities, and revenue streams, while maintaining strict cost control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and other applicable accounting requirements, maintaining current knowledge of evolving financial regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, such as Finance Director or CFO, within complex organizations or non-profit entities.
  • Extensive background in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and public accounting environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IFRS, GAAP, and IAS, with technical proficiency in financial software systems and accounting systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific regulations, including risk management practices and compliance management frameworks.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis and write and interpret financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Experience developing financial projection models using advanced data analytics tools, with Excel data analysis proficiency required.
  • Leadership capabilities with a record of managing diverse finance teams and applying strategic management practices.
  • Ability to work knowledgeably with complex financial markets and apply strategic planning principles for sustainable growth.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear articulation of financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels and alignment of finance initiatives with organizational goals.
