Job Description
Lead planning operations and hands-on client financial planning support in a fast-paced advisory environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial analysis and build financial plans as a hands-on planner for day-to-day client work in a high-producing setting
- Integrate Microsoft Co-Pilot and other AI tools into planning processes and operations
- Lead, coach, and develop the financial planning team
- Oversee preparation, review, and delivery of comprehensive financial plans while maintaining accuracy and improving process efficiency
- Support advisor revenue growth by creating straightforward implementation steps tied to the financial planning process
- Partner with advisors on client planning strategy, meeting preparation, and building advisor meeting guides
- Own operational controls and process execution for RMDs, internal payment of policies, death claims, and related opportunities
- Ensure client data accuracy and consistency across planning materials and CRM systems
- Improve, scale, and refine planning and meeting preparation workflows, tasking, and opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality
- Directly prepare meetings for 20–40 appointments per week
- Serve as a senior planning resource for complex client cases
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information
- Ensure adherence to Thrivent policies, compliance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Securities registrations: Series 7 and 66, or Series 7, 63, and 65
- Resident state Life, Health and Annuities registration
- Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting, plus securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification where applicable
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (preferred)
- Project and process management experience
- 3–5+ years experience in financial planning or related financial services roles
- CFP® designation preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years of start date
- Exceptional people, leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency with financial planning tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office

Compensation
- USD 90,000 to 135,000 per year based on experience
