ERP Finance Architect – Chart of Accounts / General Ledger

Vaco LLC is hiring an ERP Finance Architect to lead enterprise Chart of Accounts (CoA) and General Ledger (GL) architecture for an ERP transformation in Nashville.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and future-state design for enterprise-wide Chart of Accounts and General Ledger architecture
• Define and manage the CoA design approach, including milestones, dependencies, and key decision points
• Assess current CoA structures, account usage, reporting needs, internal controls, and organizational variations
• Translate financial and reporting requirements into CoA segments, hierarchies, accounting rules, and financial dimensions
• Prepare for and facilitate CoA design workshops with Finance and ERP stakeholders
• Create design alternatives and guide stakeholders through complex financial architecture decisions
• Maintain clarity on design decisions, including issues, assumptions, and dependencies
• Coordinate CoA decisions across ERP workstreams such as financial reporting, business processes, data conversion, and integrations
• Document approved designs and recommendations for future ERP configuration

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in ERP financial systems, financial systems architecture, enterprise accounting architecture, or ERP financial management
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing a complex, enterprise-wide Chart of Accounts
• Leadership experience on at least one CoA redesign or ERP financial transformation
• Strong understanding of General Ledger architecture and financial reporting
• Experience translating business and reporting requirements into account structures, segments, hierarchies, financial dimensions, and accounting rules
• Experience with governmental fund accounting and GASB standards
• Experience working in complex, multi-entity, multi-agency, or similarly large organizational environments
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CGFM, CMA, CBAP, or comparable certification

Position Details

• Compensation: $70–$85 per hour (based on experience)
• Location: Nashville, TN (hybrid)
• Employment Type: Contract
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Onsite Preference: Local candidates who can work onsite as required are strongly preferred
