Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership seeks a skilled Fiscal Officer/Finance Director to lead the organization’s financial operations from its office in Pender, Nebraska. This role combines ownership of the full finance function with a mission-driven, community-focused environment where financial stewardship supports critical programs. The successful candidate will oversee systems, reporting, compliance, budgeting, and audits to ensure robust fiscal management across funded initiatives.
Job Summary
The Fiscal Officer/Finance Director directs the organization’s financial activities, ensuring accurate controls and timely information within a nonprofit setting that prioritizes community impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead management of financial systems, reporting, compliance, budgeting, and audits.
- Own the full finance function while contributing to a meaningful, community-oriented workplace.
- Maintain corporate, fiscal, and property documents and records in line with written policies, audit standards, and funding source requirements.
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation, monthly close, and setup of new accounts.
- Verify deposits and respond to questions from banking institutions.
- Monitor grant receivables from federal, state, and local sources.
- Assist external auditors at year-end by preparing schedules and explaining supporting materials.
- File annual tax forms and government reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of program participants and adhere to program and agency standards and policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (Required).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting or finance management experience preferred.
- Experience with grants, nonprofit, government, or healthcare financial systems a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting.
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with leadership teams; excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Driver’s License (Required).
- Ability to commute to Pender, NE 68047 (Required).

Compensation
Salary range is USD 65,000 to 80,000 per year, with pay based on experience.
