Job Description

The Finance Assistant role at Master Medical Equipment supports accounts receivable and accounts payable operations with administrative and operational duties to ensure data accuracy. This position provides essential backing to the leadership team as it pursues its Vision, Plan, and quarterly Rocks.

Overview

Location: Jackson, TN (onsite)

Salary: USD 19 - 26 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Vision: Convert AR and AP goals into daily actionable tasks.
  • People: Support the finance team’s development and accountability.
  • Data: Assist the AR and AP Scorecard that informs the Level 10 meeting.
  • Issues: Capture and help resolve finance related problems.
  • Process: Document, maintain, and improve core accounting SOPs.

Deliverables

  • Vision: Quarterly Rocks aligned with the AR and AP function, such as 100% aged invoices addressed with cash collection calls.
  • People: Individual scorecards (KPIs) covering invoices processed, error rate, and aged invoices.
  • Data: Weekly Scorecard metrics.
  • Issues: Support an issue log with root cause analysis for AR and AP functions.
  • Transaction Processing: Record cash receipts, vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and assist with journal entries.
  • AR Support: Apply cash and perform cash collection activities.
  • AP Support: Match invoices to purchase orders, code correctly, and investigate issues.
  • Reporting: Pull standard reports (expense summaries, aging, cash position) as required for the team and for the Level 10 meeting.
  • Effective communication: Maintain clear, proactive communication within the team.
  • Collaboration: Work hand in hand with the AR & AP Manager to support the team in achieving its goals.
  • Curiosity: Ask clarifying questions and approach tasks with intellectual curiosity.

  • Proficiency in financial software applications is essential.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in finance or administrative roles is a plus.
