Assistant Director of Finance

Join CFS for a stable, onsite finance leadership role in Silver Spring, MD with free parking and 8a-4p hours. This position offers a visible supervisory scope, close collaboration with senior finance leadership, and broad exposure across general ledger, month-end close, billing, revenue tracking, and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance operations and supervise Accounts Payable and Billing team members
• Manage general ledger activity, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes
• Monitor billing, accounts receivable, contract activity, and revenue tracking to support accuracy and timely reporting
• Assist with audit preparation by supporting schedules and financial documentation
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, and reconciliations while partnering with senior finance leadership
• Complete ad hoc tasks and projects as requested

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Nonprofit accounting and finance experience (required)
• Progressive accounting or finance experience with supervisory responsibilities
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting
• Sage 300 experience (preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills and experience supporting audits and financial analysis (preferred)

Compensation and Work Setup

Salary: USD 83,000 to 93,000 per year

Location: Silver Spring, MD (onsite)

Schedule: 8a-4p
