Finance Controller

Lead the finance and accounting function for a snack and jerky manufacturing operation in Scottsbluff, NE, with a focus on reporting accuracy, internal controls, and cost visibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and finance activities for operations in Nebraska
• Own the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting
• Drive cost accounting initiatives, including:
  • Inventory valuation
  • Manufacturing variance analysis
  • Labor analysis
  • Margin reporting
• Support pricing analysis, transfer pricing considerations, and product line profitability evaluations
• Coordinate externally with CPA firms, banks, auditors, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, applicable tax requirements, and company financial policies
• Assist leadership with strategic planning, capital expenditure analysis, and operational decision support
• Develop and improve financial processes, reporting, and ERP utilization
• Support inventory controls and reconciliation in partnership with operations and warehouse teams
• Supervise or support accounting staff as the organization grows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience (required)
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
• Experience working with ERP systems ( NetSuite experience preferred )
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
