Job Description

UIDP, Inc. is seeking a Finance Director to steer the organization’s financial direction and grants oversight. In this leadership role, you will work closely with the CEO and board to shape budgeting, accounting practices, and regulatory compliance from a hybrid setting in Columbia, South Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute enduring financial plans that support UIDP’s strategic goals and growth objectives
  • Collaborate with the Treasurer, President & CEO, and Board to guide investment strategy, including reserves management and both near-term and long-term investment approaches
  • Assess banks, investment options, and advisory relationships to ensure alignment with mission, goals, and risk tolerance
  • Lead annual budget cycles and multi-year financial forecasting
  • Institute policies, systems, and controls that enable scalable, sustainable operations
  • Deliver financial analysis and scenario planning to inform strategic initiatives
  • Supervise all accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Maintain and enhance dashboards and reporting tools for executives and the board
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records and reporting systems (QuickBooks or equivalent)
  • Provide executive oversight of the annual audit process, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely completion
  • Manage banking relationships for optimal account structures, favorable rates, and cost-effective fees
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operations and strategic initiatives
  • Oversee grant budgeting, tracking, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and private funding requirements
  • Review grant-related financial reports and sub-awardee activities
  • Strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in financial processes as needed, especially in a lean team environment
  • Lead financial process improvements and system enhancements, identifying inefficiencies, implementing scalable solutions, and managing change across the organization
  • Supervise and mentor finance staff
  • Continuously improve financial systems, workflows, and efficiencies
  • Additional tasks may arise to support the organization, requiring flexibility and a collaborative approach

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior-level or leadership finance role

Location

Columbia, SC, USA. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with staff working 3-4 days per week in the Downtown Columbia office.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is full-time and exempt, offering a competitive salary of $90,000 per year.
