Job Description

Converse County Aging Services (CCAS) is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the organization’s financial operations and help provide clear financial support to leadership and the Board of Directors. This onsite role supports daily accounting functions while strengthening budgeting, reporting, cash flow oversight, and internal controls for a nonprofit serving the community.

Role Overview

The Finance Director oversees day-to-day finance activities, including budget preparation and monitoring, financial reporting, and cash management. The position also works closely with external accountants and auditors, supports the annual audit, and helps identify improvements to financial systems, efficiency, reporting, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations
  • Prepare and monitor organizational budgets
  • Prepare financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors
  • Monitor cash flow, revenues, and expenditures
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation
  • Support payroll and related financial processes
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals
  • Support the annual audit
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, efficiency, reporting, and accountability
  • Provide financial information and analysis to support organizational decisions

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong accounting and financial management skills
  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger activity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial staff and leadership
  • Strong computer and financial software skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting, healthcare, human services, senior services, government, or community-based organizations is highly valued

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary: $70,000 annually, with consideration given to experience and qualifications.
