Finance Director (Nonprofit- Senior Center)
Job Description
Converse County Aging Services (CCAS) is seeking a Finance Director to lead the organization’s day-to-day financial operations for services supporting older adults throughout Converse County. This on-site role in Sheridan, WY partners closely with the Executive Director, staff, Board of Directors, auditors, and community partners to keep budgeting, reporting, cash flow, and internal controls running smoothly.
CCAS offers a competitive starting salary of $70,000 annually, with consideration given to experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure financial documentation remains accurate and complete.
- Prepare, monitor, and support organizational budgets, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Produce financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors and provide financial information and analysis to support decisions.
- Monitor cash flow, revenues, and expenditures to support financial stability.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including reconciliations.
- Support payroll and related financial processes.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial procedures.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals, including supporting the annual audit.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, efficiency, reporting, and accountability.
Requirements
- Strong accounting and financial management skills, with experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger activity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial staff and leadership.
- Computer and financial software skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional conduct with integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in nonprofit accounting, healthcare, human services, senior services, government, or community-based organizations is highly valued.
