Job Description

Finance Manager role based in Raleigh-Durham, NC with hybrid work options, supporting day-to-day financial operations and strategic planning for Evestia Clinical.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes in line with GAAP and IFRS requirements.
  • Generate comprehensive management reports with variance analyses versus budget and prior periods, and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Design and refine financial forecast models and annual budgets across core functions, including Clinical Operations and Business Development.
  • Direct AR, AP, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and efficient processing.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Business Development to monitor project profitability, utilization, and revenue recognition per contract terms.
  • Support treasury activities and cash flow analysis to optimize working capital.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in financial due diligence and integration planning for potential mergers, acquisitions, or strategic investments.
  • Assist external auditors during year-end audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff in finance and accounting, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIMA, CPA, or CFA are preferred.
  • Senior-level experience in finance or accounting, ideally in a CRO or pharma/biotech setting.
  • Strong FP&A capabilities, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Full-cycle accounting experience with knowledge of GAAP/IFRS reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, plus advanced Excel modelling.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally on project profitability and operational performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solid grounding in accounting principles and financial best practices.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices.
