Finance Manager

As Finance Manager at HLE Drones, you will own day-to-day financial operations, build reporting systems, and help scale a multi-location, mission-driven drone company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations in collaboration with the existing bookkeeper
• Own the monthly close cycle to keep books accurate and up to date
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow
• Maintain clean, reconciled data across QuickBooks, Finale Inventory, and Shopify
• Produce financial reports that give leadership clear visibility into performance
• Build dashboards tracking revenue, margins, expenses, and cash position
• Turn raw data into actionable insights with recommendations on next steps
• Deliver weekly and monthly financial updates to the leadership team
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support scaling
• Assist with new retail store openings, including budgets, lease analysis, and break-even projections
• Set up accounting and inventory systems for new locations
• Help leadership make informed financial decisions backed by solid data
• Identify gaps in current financial processes and implement fixes
• Improve cost of goods tracking, inventory accuracy, and margins
• Implement scalable internal controls for a growing multi-location business
• Evaluate and recommend new tools or system upgrades as current setups outgrow

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks; experience with inventory management systems is a plus
• Ability to build financial reports, models, and forecasts from scratch
• Detail-oriented and organized, with a knack for spotting what others miss
• Strong communicator who can explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders
• Self-motivated and resourceful, proactively addressing issues
• Comfortable in a fast-growing environment where multiple hats are worn
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Position details

• Location: Dundee, OH (hybrid)
• Full-time, in-person or hybrid role
• Salary range: USD 70,000–90,000 per year
• Paid time off + holidays
