Job Description
A hybrid Financial Analyst role with SMG System Medical Group in Morgantown, WV, focused on provider compensation and revenue cycle analysis to improve efficiency and margins.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate provider performance, compensation analysis, and reporting with clinical and hospital leadership involved in the process
- Independently prepare monthly performance reports for non academic provider practice entities
- Collaborate with regional accountants and practice leaders to measure performance against targets
- Maintain physician compensation and contract management software for SMG
- Oversee total compensation payments to employed and contracted providers to ensure plan adherence and Fair Market Value compliance
- Communicate with SMG leadership regarding negative variances and rolling projections
- Continuously monitor revenue cycle performance and margin enhancement opportunities and relay findings to Finance and Provider Practice leadership
- Specific reporting duties include comparing clinic/provider reimbursements and payor payments for consistency across sites, identifying potential payor enrollment issues, and monitoring claims denials
- Direct payment of Medical Directorships, Call Pay, and other non productivity contractual terms
- Coordinate financial analyses in support of new services, provider compensation rates, and long term strategic initiatives of the Provider Practices
- Utilize Inflow or equivalent tools to aid assessment and decision making
- Develop and monitor physician compensation models, including incentives, in partnership with Finance and Provider Practice Leadership
- Conduct analytical research on historical data and projected effects of new or changing services for non academic practices
- Oversee maintenance of physician compensation plans, incentive calculations, and provider productivity tools and reports
- Collaborate with Hospital Finance & Reimbursement on larger scale financial projections for the Provider Practices
- Serve as a key member of the core SMG Administration team
- Analyze and propose upgrades to compensation models
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field
- Minimum of three years of accounting or finance experience
- CPA certification
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Healthcare experience preferred
