Job Description
The Financial Controller / Accountant at State Finance Company will lead accounting, financial, administrative, and operational functions from onsite operations in San Angelo, TX, with a salary range of USD 50,000 to 80,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, cash flow planning, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports while ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, audits, internal controls, and company policies.
- Manage administrative and operational functions, including vendor relationships, purchasing, insurance, facilities, records management, and human resources administration, with a focus on efficiency and control.
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, drive operational improvements, oversee special projects, and provide financial analysis to inform decisions and drive growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, business management, or related leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft 365, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
