Job Description
State Finance Company in San Angelo, TX (onsite) seeks a Financial Controller / Accountant to lead accounting, financial, and operational functions.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, cash flow management, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, audits, internal controls, and company policies.
- Oversee administrative and operational functions, including vendor relationships, purchasing, insurance, facilities, records management, and human resources administration.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning, improve business operations, oversee special projects, and provide financial analysis to support informed decision-making and organizational growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; CPA preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, business management, or a related leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft 365, and advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
