Job Description

An onsite FP&A Sr Financial Analyst II role in Charlotte supports Truist Bank’s profit planning and forecasting cycle by delivering precise financial analysis and performance reporting for Truist Financial Corporation and its subsidiaries. The position partners with lines of business and executive leadership to translate data into clear insights that inform year-round planning and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the corporation's profit planning and forecasting process.
  • Evaluate submissions from assigned lines of business and liaise with end-users to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Prepare line of business and consolidated reports for presentation to executive leadership.
  • Execute ad hoc analyses using Truist tools as requested by the Management Reporting Manager.
  • Maintain controls and documentation governing key processes and reports.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and lines of business to develop accurate profit plans and forecasts, understand drivers, and review results to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build consensus through clear communication and presentation of relevant information.
  • Conduct variance analysis comparing plans and forecasts to actual results and prior forecasts to support performance assessment and strategic decisions.
  • Compile, review, and submit timely monthly reporting on financial performance for the bank and its lines of business, including regulatory/SEC requirements.
  • Support the development of alternative forecasting methods using models and tools to challenge baseline plans.
  • Participate in training programs related to profit planning and forecasting, and cross-train with teammates in areas such as FTE analysis, expense allocations, and plan changes.
  • Communicate effectively with Truist Financial Management, lines of business, and internal departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance, or equivalent education and training.
  • Two to four years of experience in financial analysis or corporate budgeting, profit planning, or forecasting.
  • Ability to perform productivity-driven financial modeling and analysis for income statement and balance sheet accounts across lines of business and executive roll-ups.
  • Vision and drive to assess processes for efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
