Global Real Estate Financial Controller - Analyst

The Global Real Estate Financial Controller Analyst role supports GAAP compliant accounting for capital project expenditures within JPMorganChase's Corporate Real Estate Finance group. Based onsite in Columbus, Ohio, the analyst leads month end close, reconciliations, and control activities while building cross functional partnerships across a global organization. The position offers exposure to senior leaders and cross functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct GAAP-compliant reviews of capital project expenditures to ensure proper accounting treatment and timely capitalization of fixed assets in line with firm policies
• Execute month-end close tasks including journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Monthly reconciliation of projects and accounts, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations
• Establish and maintain relationships with business partners to facilitate resolution of outstanding items; partners include internal customers and external service providers
• Maintain thorough documentation to support transaction processing in accordance with accounting practices and policies
• Identify exceptions to standards, determine root causes, and escalate to the supervisor and/or partners as appropriate
• Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries with a controls mindset
• Maintain effective communication lines across a global organization
• Perform ad hoc analysis or other responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or finance
• Strong analytical and financial skills with a track record of delivering on assignments
• Attention to detail and a structured mindset with process improvement and innovative thinking
• Ability to multi-task, collaborate effectively, and succeed in a fast paced environment
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
