Job Description
The Senior Director will oversee enterprise level pharmacy business and finance for Riverside Hospital Services, directing supply chain, the 340B program governance, and revenue integrity across acute care, ambulatory, infusion, retail, specialty, and long term care settings. This onsite role is based in Newport News, Virginia, and reports to the Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer.
Responsibilities
- Drug Purchasing, Supply Chain & Inventory Strategy: Direct pharmacy purchasing and supply chain initiatives, assess wholesaler and GPO performance, manage inventory risk, ensure DSCSA compliance, mitigate shortages, maintain accurate price files, and secure cost efficient contracting.
- Contracting, Vendor Management & Payer Strategy: Collaborate with Supply Chain, Legal, and Payer Strategy to evaluate and support drug contracting, pharmacy benefit manager relationships, payer reimbursement, and vendor performance with an emphasis on opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
- 340B Program Governance: Lead 340B activities and growth across the organization, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and operational integrity. Oversee contract pharmacy performance, third party administrator oversight, and optimization aligned with regulatory and financial requirements.
- Enterprise Pharmacy Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction for pharmacy financial performance, including drug budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning. Ensure transparent, accurate financial reporting and leverage automation and analytics to enhance efficiency and decision making.
- Revenue Integrity & Charge Drug Master Oversight: Guide the strategy for pharmacy charge description master management and revenue integrity functions. Ensure compliant, accurate charge capture and collaborate with Revenue Cycle to resolve denials and reimbursement issues.
- Talent Management & Leadership Development: Lead and develop a high performing team, overseeing workforce planning, staffing, coaching, performance management, and leadership development.
- Business Intelligence & Analytics Leadership: Direct the pharmacy analytics program, advancing automation, dashboards, forecasting tools, and data visualization. Synthesize trends and insights to inform financial, operational, and strategic decisions across the enterprise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, or related field (Required)
- 5 years of progressive work experience in pharmacy operations and/or finance in a healthcare setting (Required)
- 2 years of subject matter expert level knowledge of 340B program compliance and management (Required)
- 2 years of progressive and focused experience in pharmacy drug procurement, supply chain management, contracting and revenue cycle (Required)
- Licensed Pharmacist with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) within 60 days (Required)
- Completion of 340B University OnDemand - Apexus training within 180 days (Required)
