This on site opportunity in Cambridge, MA offers a path to influence BioNTech US as it shifts toward a commercially focused finance organization. The Senior Director, US Commercial Finance Operations and Gross-to-Net leads financial oversight of sales processes and SOX compliance, collaborating with global stakeholders to build infrastructure, drive revenue recognition, pricing, and government pricing strategies. The role carries a competitive salary range of USD 198,900 – 318,300 per year and requires a finance degree with CPA preferred.

Responsibilities
- Maintain financial oversight for sales related processes including compliance to SOX and US federal anti-kickback statutes.
- Lead the development of US infrastructure and operational finance processes in partnership with global stakeholders, including Global Process Owners, Global Financial Reporting & Accounting, and Global Commercial Finance. Own L2C process execution in the US.
- Fully own Gross-to-Net (G2N) by preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and true-ups for sales deductions during month-end close.
- Support the establishment of the Gross to Net process for BioNTech USA with appropriate systems, collaborating with local and global stakeholders such as the global GPO L2C; help build internal Finance USA capabilities.
- Apply expert knowledge of discounts, rebates, Government Pricing, and the impact on ASP and net cost recovery for commercial and government payers.
- Lead US G2N reserve analysis and forecasting to mitigate risk and ensure accurate revenue recognition across commercial and government channels, including Medicare, Medicaid, and PBMs.
- Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts, delivering strategic insights on pricing, payer mix, and product launches to US leadership.
- Manage Government Pricing Reporting.
- Oversee outsourcing partnerships with external G2N providers, 3PLs, or 5 PLs, aligning with BNTX requirements and interfaces and evaluating internalization options with local and global stakeholders.
- Serve as primary contact for external and royalty audits, maintaining Reasonable Assumptions documentation and SOX-compliant SOPs.
- Advance the transformation of the US Finance organization from a research-centered to a commercial-centered focus, in collaboration with the US Finance Leadership Team.
- Build and lead an internal team over the coming years for select activities.
Requirements
- Finance degree, CPA preferred
- Curiosity to establish new processes from scratch in a fast-moving environment with global and local stakeholders
- 10+ years of experience in US pharma, preferably oncology, in Gross to Net, Accounts Receivable, Government pricing, and related general accounting activities
- Knowledge of distribution, group purchasing organizations, patient support programs, and 340B implications
- Public accounting experience, preferably in a SOX environment
- Experience with ERP transformation projects
- Willingness to assume personal accountability to establish new processes in a fast-moving environment with local and global stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity
- Onsite presence required
