Job Description

NOX METALS is seeking a Senior Finance Manager in Los Angeles, CA to help build and run the company’s financial operating system. This onsite role centers on producing dependable close results, clear management reporting, and decision-ready analysis, with a focus on how operational drivers flow through the financial statements.

The position brings finance and operations together by translating day-to-day mechanics across inventory, purchasing, production, pricing, freight, and customer terms into processes that improve forecasting, controls, costing, and gross-margin visibility. The goal is to strengthen planning and cash understanding while partnering on pricing, capacity, and investment choices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close, including account reconciliations and management reporting
  • Build and run forecasts and planning processes for revenue, margin, cash, labor, inventory, and capital
  • Explain actual results versus plan, including the operating drivers behind variances
  • Develop and maintain controls suitable for a fast-growing, inventory-intensive organization
  • Partner with sales and operations on pricing, customer economics, capacity, and investment decisions
  • Improve costing, inventory accounting, and gross-margin visibility
  • Manage cross-functional workflows related to audit, tax, insurance, banking, and external accounting
  • Develop finance systems and responsibly automate repetitive reporting
  • Support leadership and board materials with accurate, decision-ready analysis
  • Coach finance teammates and raise expectations for documentation and follow-through

Requirements

  • Strong accounting fundamentals with equal interest in operating decisions
  • Able to build a financial model and then test assumptions on the factory floor
  • High standards for accuracy, controls, and deadlines
  • Clear and concise communication of financial results to non-finance leaders
  • Comfort working in a growing environment where systems are still being built
  • Commercial mindset while maintaining accounting integrity
  • Low ego, direct communication, and willingness to own details

Benefits

  • Equity in Nox Metals
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance

Nice to Have

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, metals, logistics, or another inventory-heavy business
  • Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, working capital, or plant finance
  • CPA, public-accounting experience, or an equivalent technical accounting foundation
  • Experience implementing ERP, planning, or business-intelligence systems
  • Comfort using AI and automation tools with appropriate financial controls
