Job Description
State of New Mexico offers an on-site Senior Financial Analyst role in Santa Fe with a $30-$45 per hour compensation. This position supports essential accounts payable processing, audits, and the annual financial audit process within the Administrative Services Division and Health Care Authority, with interactions across other state agencies and third-party vendors. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and professional growth in a collaborative public-sector environment that values service to the community.
Responsibilities
- Audit all department invoices and enter payment vouchers into SHARE
- Process Operating Transfer Requests (OPR)
- Perform journal entry corrections and manage journal vouchers
- Complete Accounts Payable reconciliations and schedules
- Coordinate with external auditors during the yearly financial audit
- Monitor, reconcile, process, and maintain multiple accounting records and funding sources for Accounts Payable
- Act as a first level preparer of financial documents for the Accounts Payable Bureau, ensuring records are accurate and compliant with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards
- Ensure adherence to the DFA Model of Accounting Practices (MAPs) and internal policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, economics, finance, or business administration and three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance, economics, and/or statistical analysis
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling seven (7) years may substitute for the required education and experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must obtain a Defensive driving certification

Working conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive computer and phone usage, and extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
