What you’ll own
In this onsite role in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will manage US GAAP financial reporting and oversight for Health and Welfare Benefits and Retirement results. This includes supervising SOX controls, leading budgeting and reporting, and overseeing plan administration and retirement plan assets. The position also supports employee financial wellness initiatives designed to increase awareness of plan value and participation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop department budgets for over $300 million in annual spend, and manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting of department results for presentation to the CHRO and CFO.
- Monitor SOX controls through supervision of a financial analyst team and collaboration with corporate accounting and consulting actuaries.
- Analyze financial trends and results using financial dashboards, supervise account reconciliations, and review journal entry preparation for monthly Benefits and Retirement activity.
- Provide oversight of Retirement Plan assets of approximately $1.4 billion, and manage retirement plan administration in accordance with Plan documents, prospectuses, and regulatory standards including DOL, ERISA, and IRS, directing third-party administrators and other consultants.
- Monitor compliance with Plans’ investment, governance, and cybersecurity policies, and present quarterly to the Employee Benefits Committee (EBC); review the annual report for the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate vendor preparation of 401(k) and Health and Welfare Form 5500s, supervise the 401(k) Plan annual audit, and support preparation of 401(k) financial statements for presentation to the Chief Accounting Officer and EBC.
- Design, implement, and communicate programs intended to promote employee financial wellness and awareness of the Retirement Plans’ value.
- Stay current on evolving trends and regulatory considerations, serving as a subject matter expert to keep Retirement Plans’ documents and process manuals current.
- Support vendor request for proposals and manage implementations.
- Manage the third-party administrator for relocations and coordinate with Corporate and Region leadership regarding supervised transfers.
- Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the Company’s Values and Behaviors and adhere to all Company policies and procedures in interactions with employees, co-workers, and vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or data science.
- Five years of progressive experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or data science roles.
- Strong critical and analytical thinking, with experience integrating AI tools into business processes.
- Ability to supervise and support career growth of team members.
- Demonstrated success managing and coordinating third-party administrators, record-keepers, consultants, and advisors.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- Advanced MS Office and advanced MS Excel; experience with Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
- Workday experience and top-tier 401(k) record-keeping services experience are preferred.
- Subject matter experience in the retirement industry is preferred.
