Job Description

Daimler Truck North America is hiring an Aftermarket Finance & Controlling Specialist to strengthen finance operations and support process transformation across its aftermarket business. Based in Jacksonville, FL, this hybrid role combines controlling-focused analysis with hands-on AP/AR execution, continuous improvement, and compliance and quality assurance planning. The position contributes to shaping both finance and related IT processes for Daimler Coaches, while helping unify finance workflows across multiple Daimler business units.

Role focus

  • Independently design and build new finance and controlling processes, including identifying blind spots in the current setup
  • Develop KPI-based recommendations to improve business processes and cost structures
  • Combine operational finance needs across Daimler Trucks North America, Daimler Buses, and Daimler Coaches North America
  • Contribute to reshaping the IT landscape in combination with finance processes for Daimler Coaches over the coming years

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and implement quality assurance and compliance processes
  • Prepare documentation that supports analysis and improvement, including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap or problem analysis
  • Prepare, record, verify, analyze, and report AP/AR transactions
  • Pay vendor invoices and receive and post customer payments promptly
  • Maintain and reconcile AP/AR ledger accounts, financial statements, and reports
  • Prepare analyses and reconciliations of bill runs to detect fraud
  • Ensure adherence to transaction entry verification procedures
  • Support low-volume customer billing and respond to related customer queries
  • Oversee AP/AR transaction work outsourced to Accenture, including ensuring accuracy and managing escalations
  • Support invoice creation, including cancellations and re-issuance of incorrect invoices
  • Allocate payments, process checks and cash applications, and handle dunning processes
  • Address customer accounting inquiries and oversee new customer setup in cbFC
  • Verify tax exemption or reseller certificates and ensure completion of setup forms
  • Monitor KPIs for the PDI in Jacksonville and the parts business
  • Input data into third-party payment platforms and monitor payment receipt; release logistics processes or initiate services upon payment confirmation
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies with vendors and requestors
  • Create and manage prepayment invoices for parts or external services
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and improvement areas
  • Prepare regular management reporting, including end-of-month finance reports
  • Improve general business processes (non-manufacturing) using methodologies to increase quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
  • Maintain and organize finance-related documentation; support compliance tracking and administrative tasks including scheduling, reporting, and project assistance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2-4 years of relevant finance and accounting experience
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPS, formulas, and analysis)
  • Financial Operations expertise in AR/AP, customer billing, payment processing, and ledger reconciliation
  • Controlling and reporting expertise, including the ability to monitor and analyze KPIs
  • Experience preparing financial reports and identifying cost improvement opportunities
  • Proven ability to build finance processes from scratch and perform process gap analysis
  • Analytical strengths for fraud detection and discrepancy resolution
  • Affinity for IT and the ability to contribute to IT landscape changes from a finance perspective
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to manage outsourced financial operations and cross-collaboration
  • Experience creating business requirements, process maps, and compliance documentation

Compensation and work setup

  • Salary range: USD 71,000 - 91,000 per year
  • Schedule: Full time
