Job Description
Santa Barbara Honda in Ventura, California seeks an Automotive Finance Director to lead the dealership's financing operations on site. The role centers on managing loan processing, contract preparation, and TILA-compliant lending while guiding a finance team to improve profitability through disciplined credit analysis and customer-focused upselling.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete auto finance workflow, including loan approval, processing, and contract preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with lending institutions, credit agencies, and financial service providers to secure competitive financing options for customers.
- Coach and lead a finance team, focusing on customer relationship management, upselling strategies, and negotiation techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
- Perform credit analyses to determine borrower eligibility, maintaining responsible lending aligned with TILA requirements.
- Direct title processing, loan documentation, and contract signing to deliver a smooth customer experience from start to finish.
- Provide training on financial software platforms and fundamental math skills needed for precise deal structuring and loan calculations.
- Partner with sales teams to identify upsell opportunities for products such as extended warranties or insurance policies that enhance value for customers.
Requirements
- Automotive finance management experience in a dealership setting.
- Substantial background in financial services, including loan officer experience and credit analysis.
- Strong understanding of dealership operations, vehicle sales processes, and title processing.
- Familiarity with TILA regulations, loan processing systems, and financial software platforms.
- Proven ability in negotiation, contract management, and upselling techniques that drive revenue growth.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building lasting client relationships through effective communication and problem solving.
- Basic math proficiency, including 10-key typing skills.

Pay
Salary: $36,000 - $150,000 per year
