Job Description

Director of Finance & Administration role in Phoenix, NY focused on building and scaling U.S. finance, controlling, and indirect shared services for Daldrop SBB.

Responsibilities

  • Own local finance, accounting, and financial controlling for the U.S. entity
  • Set up and run compliant accounting and controlling processes aligned with US GAAP, local tax requirements, and Group policies
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reporting, and variance analyses
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning for U.S. operations
  • Serve as the primary finance counterpart for external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and authorities
  • Drive transparency, data quality, and timely reporting to Group Finance
  • Provide structured financial insight to support strategic decisions during rapid growth
  • Functional leadership and administration responsibility for indirect shared services with operational enablement and alignment to global standards, including:
    • IT & ERP Support: Coordinate local business IT services, applications, and infrastructure in line with Global IT and ERP governance
    • Human Resources: Oversee the local HR function through the local HR Manager, supporting staffing, onboarding, HR administration, training, and payroll coordination aligned with global HR frameworks
    • Procurement (Operational Focus): Oversee financial operational procurement processes, supplier coordination, and purchasing aligned with global sourcing strategies
    • Quality & Documentation Administration: Oversee documentation control and quality-related administrative processes in coordination with operational and engineering teams
    • Risk Management & Compliance: Implement and develop the Group risk management and compliance framework, including commercial and contractual matters relevant to U.S. construction and manufacturing environments
  • Support setup and scaling of the U.S. organization, including structures, roles, and processes for indirect functions
  • Take a hands-on approach during the initial phase by personally executing key finance and administrative tasks while scalable systems are built
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development of indirect function teams, including participation in recruitment and team build-up
  • As the organization matures, balance execution and delegation as indirect teams expand
  • Coordinate the rollout and ongoing operation of the global ERP system as local steering lead
  • Ensure accurate local implementation of global finance, controlling, and administrative processes
  • Act as an interface between U.S. operations and global process owners to maintain consistency and usability
  • Ensure compliance with local legal, financial, HR, and data protection requirements
  • Support identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational and financial risks at the U.S. entity level
  • Adapt global compliance and risk management standards to U.S. regulatory and commercial expectations
  • Collaborate with the U.S. leadership team across Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Construction Project Delivery
  • Coordinate with Group Finance, Global HR, Global IT, and other central shared service functions
  • Bridge U.S. operational needs with global governance requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in finance and administration
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial construction, or engineered systems environments preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling finance operations, shared services, or administrative functions
  • Prior exposure to international or matrixed reporting environments strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and HR-related financial governance
  • Proven leadership across multidisciplinary functions
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented mindset with strategic judgment
  • Strong financial discipline, structured thinking, and risk awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Familiarity with various financial software
  • Fluent English (German not required)
  • Occasional travel

Job Details
