Job Description
The Daniel Pitino Shelter in Owensboro, KY seeks a strategic Director of Finance and Operations to safeguard financial health, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive efficient operations while guiding planning and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, covering budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning.
- Manage comprehensive financial accounting functions, including corporate, nonprofit, and governmental accounting, ensuring GAAP and IFRS compliance.
- Oversee treasury activities, including cash flow analysis, investment oversight, and risk assessment to optimize resources.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, interpretation of statements, and timely submission of reports to stakeholders and regulators.
- Supervise accounting operations such as general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, cost accounting, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Establish robust risk management practices to identify financial or operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support growth opportunities and revenue management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements specific to nonprofit or government entities as applicable.
- Lead the finance team in using financial software to streamline bookkeeping, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning to align operational activities with organizational objectives.
