Job Description

The part-time Director of Finance for the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association oversees financial recordkeeping, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, monthly reporting, and administration of employee benefits for the association and its foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop the consolidated annual budgets for the Association and its Foundation.
  • Produce ad hoc financial analyses for the CEO and Board as requested.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, record general ledger entries, and perform reconciliation.
  • Oversee cash management activities.
  • Administer payroll processes for all Association entities.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Oversee budgeting processes across the organization.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and submit to the approved payroll processor for all PSNA entities.
  • Balance and reconcile all financial accounts monthly and perform year-end close.
  • Generate monthly reports and budget-to-actual comparisons for the CEO and each department head.
  • Maintain accurate records of the Association's investment program.
  • Compile work papers and information requested by external reviewers as required.
  • Assess the effectiveness of fiscal operations and propose actions to the CEO.
  • Prepare for and participate in PSNA/NFP Board meetings and other meetings as directed by the CEO.
  • Manage the ICHRA health reimbursement plan, life and disability insurance, and 401(k) retirement plans for staff.
  • Generate invoices for PSNA/NFP as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • At least four years of continuous bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience producing monthly financial reports.
  • Familiarity with investment procedures.
  • Payroll processing experience.
  • Experience preparing quarterly reports to state and federal agencies.
  • Proficiency with Sage software.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks software.
  • Proficiency with Excel.

  • Hourly rate: USD 35.00 to 37.00, based on experience
