Finance & Accounting Manager -Products

The Finance and Accounting Manager for Products oversees inventory accounting, costing, valuation, forecasting, pricing administration, billing, and financial reporting within a manufacturing and distribution environment. In a private equity backed setting, this role leads ERP initiatives, process improvements, and cross functional collaboration to drive operational and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the full cycle of inventory accounting, including costing, valuation, reconciliation, and overall inventory controls.
• Design and sustain internal controls over inventory and related financial processes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Service to enhance profitability and business performance.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
• Oversee customer pricing administration and billing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and refine financial reporting packages, dashboards, KPIs, and executive analysis.
• Act as the finance lead for ERP implementations, upgrades, and system enhancement initiatives.
• Lead efforts to automate processes, standardize procedures, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Support acquisition integrations, standardization of reporting, and business transformation initiatives.
• Work closely with executive leadership to inform strategic decision-making and drive operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, cost accounting, inventory accounting, or operational finance.
• Extensive hands-on experience with inventory accounting, controls, costing, and inventory management processes.
• Experience working within ERP systems and using financial data to drive operational performance.
• Proven success in fast paced, high growth environments with changing priorities.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial products, construction materials, distribution, or similar operations.
• Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to lead cross functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple departments.

• Extensive hands-on involvement leading or supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, system conversions, and process improvements.
• Experience with financial reporting tools, BI platforms, and reporting automation.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, and business transformation projects.
• Prior leadership or people management experience.
• CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred; MBA considered a plus.

Pay

Annual salary: USD 120,000.

Work Location

Onsite in Kansas City, Missouri.
