Job Description
The Finance Manager will oversee the program’s financial operations, safeguarding financial health and integrity while coordinating non-programmatic administrative processes. The role works in close partnership with the Co-Directors and the Board to develop strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all financial operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and financial grant reports.
- Collaborate with the Program’s contracted Certified Public Accountant to process payroll and to prepare and file required tax forms, including the IRS Form 990 and Financial Statements.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Co-Directors and Board of Directors, providing analysis and recommendations as needed, including reports on actual performance versus budget.
- Supervise the part-time Finance Assistant.
- Manage bank and investment accounts to ensure funding is available for daily obligations and to maximize earnings on investments.
- Oversee cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, and maintain complete and accurate records of all transactions.
- Oversee financial and administrative procedures, including procurement, insurance, fiscal controls, contracts, and financial records retention.
- Track and administer paid leave accruals and balances.
- Attend meetings with grantors, contractors, and other program partners and stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five or more years of professional experience with budget development and management, ideally with grant budgets.
- Professional experience with GAAP, fiscal controls, financial data analysis, financial reporting, accounting software, and administrative procedures.
- Integrity and responsibility to facilitate transparency and honesty in financial reporting and management.

Workplace
The Kin Support Program Haa Yatx’u Saani is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Juneau, serving the Southeast Alaska region. The organization supports relatives raising children outside the foster care system to ensure access to financial, social, cultural, and legal resources for family wellness and stability. The workplace operates with a hybrid model, combining remote work and in-person activities at our office, and there are six employees. This position may be remote. Compensation
This is a 30 hour per week position with annual compensation of $100,000, including health and retirement stipends in lieu of employer-provided benefits. Work hours are flexible and can be coordinated weekly with the Co-Directors. The role includes paid leave and holidays. Pay is $100,000 per year.
