Finance Manager

Finance Manager role in New Hyde Park, NY combining US financial operations with analytics, controls, and business partnering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing cycles, ensuring reports are complete, accurate, and delivered on time
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reporting, and financial analyses in close coordination with headquarters in Belgium
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and convert financial results into actionable insights for commercial and operational teams
• Improve reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes to increase consistency, efficiency, and business focus
• Oversee and process bi-weekly payroll in coordination with external payroll providers
• Manage boutique cash reconciliation, ensuring discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved promptly
• Track cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and oversee overall cash positioning
• Own Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: invoice processing, collections, and vendor management
• Ensure proper expense recording and timely, accurate vendor payments
• Review aging reports, follow up on outstanding receivables, and support credit risk management
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements, including sales tax and corporate filings
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, insurance providers, and other financial partners when needed
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate finance processes to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
• Take a leading role in the migration to a new ERP system, working with headquarters, IT, and external implementation partners

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA qualification is a strong asset
• At least 7 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably in audit, retail, consumer goods, or FMCG
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and relevant US tax regulations
• Hands-on experience across finance operations: closing, reporting, payroll, cash management, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
• Comfort working with accounting and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics or SAP is an asset
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
• Technology-minded with an active focus on improving, automating, and simplifying processes
• Clear, confident communication with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and international colleagues
• Experience in an international organization is a strong advantage
