Job Description

Financial Analyst role supporting Lyte Fiber’s Financial Operations in accounting, FP&A, forecasting, reporting, and continuous process improvement under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Support Financial Operations with strong accounting, financial planning, and analytical rigor aligned to goals set by the VP of Financial Operations and Senior Leadership
  • Improve and enhance daily operational procedures, tasks, and internal controls
  • Analyze complex, challenging problems to drive optimal solutions
  • Resolve complex issues using creative, effective approaches
  • Apply consistent methodologies to maintain accuracy, identify discrepancies, and switch between detailed and conceptual analysis
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close: journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and Lyte Fiber accounting policies, including fiber-specific capitalization and cost treatment
  • Assist with assigned accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions
  • Support compliance with the Company’s operating and financial controls
  • Compile and evaluate business cases and capital requests against Company ROI and payback requirements
  • Monitor budget compliance by reviewing leading indicators for unapproved spend
  • Support audit requests with documentation and schedules for external auditors and PE sponsor reporting
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and multi-year long-range plan
  • Build and maintain financial models to assess business performance, capital projects, and market expansion opportunities
  • Partner with Operations, Construction, and Network teams to analyze fiber economics (including cost-per-passing and cost-per-connection)
  • Conduct variance analysis versus budget/forecast to identify drivers and recommend corrective actions
  • Support rolling forecasts with monthly reviews of actuals and forward-looking assumptions
  • Document business drivers behind variances and communicate material changes to leadership
  • Publish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports covering budget, forecast, and long-range plan performance
  • Develop and maintain dashboards (NetSuite and other tools) to surface operating and financial performance
  • Support ad hoc reporting and analysis capabilities for Financial Operations
  • Develop working knowledge of NetSuite and other FP&A, reporting, and analysis systems used by the Company
  • Support design, documentation, and continuous improvement of accounting and FP&A processes and controls
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations using automation and AI tools
  • Participate in a proactive, collaborative team environment that supports informed decision-making
  • Coach and train others to support Financial Operations education and development across the Company

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and the Company’s accounting and financial policies with minimal guidance
  • Strong ability to analyze complex, challenging problems and produce optimal solutions
  • Strong accounting, financial, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prepare and review financial models, maintain consistent methodologies, and find and resolve errors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision while reprioritizing based on changing priorities and timelines
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of corporate finance and accounting in accordance with GAAP
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic), including persuasiveness
  • Follow internal controls, protect confidential information, and adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge; proficient computer skills using MS Office 365 Suite and NetSuite
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of accounting, FP&A, or other relevant professional experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required: Combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform duties; may substitute for total years required on a year-for-year basis
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of accounting, FP&A, or other relevant professional experience
  • Preferred: CPA or CFA credential
  • Preferred: Telecommunications, ISP, or fiber industry experience
  • Other relevant industry or job-specific certifications

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Primarily sedentary work with daily computer usage
  • Availability for additional time on weekends, holidays, or before/after normal hours when necessary, especially around month-end and year-end close
  • Lyte Fiber operates critical broadband infrastructure; employees may be contacted outside core hours to respond to network outages or business emergencies
