Financial Controller

FRDM Turf is seeking a Financial Controller in Draper, UT (onsite) to serve as Head of Accounting, report to the CFO, deliver reviewed financials by Business Day 10 each month, and build scalable accounting processes across a multi-market organization, with a salary range of USD 120,000 - 150,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide reviewed monthly financials by Business Day 10, supported by a fully reconciled balance sheet.
• Lead the complete month-end close across cash, AP, AR, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and work-in-progress.
• Oversee accounts payable operations, vendor governance, payment scheduling, and exception handling.
• Maintain weekly cash-planning inputs and enforce disbursement discipline; ensure inventory and COGS accuracy in partnership with Supply Chain and Fulfillment leadership.
• Maintain compliance calendars covering payroll filings, sales tax, licenses, 1099s, insurance audits, and lender documentation.
• Build and maintain accounting SOPs across QuickBooks Online, Ramp, ServiceTitan, and internal workflows.
• Improve reporting accuracy, workflow visibility, and financial accountability across departments.
• Lead and develop the accounting team while sustaining a high-trust, high-accountability culture.
• Surface risks and operational issues early and partner cross-functionally with operations and market leadership.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 1–2 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm.
• 1–2+ years in home services, construction, or project-based industries preferred.
• Experience owning month-end close in a $10M - $100M revenue environment.
• Strong understanding of operational accounting and inventory-based businesses.
• High proficiency with accounting systems and process management.
