Financial Controller

ENTE K is hiring a Financial Controller to lead finance and accounting for a battery separator manufacturing facility in Terre Haute, IN (onsite), supporting commissioning, startup, and ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the accounting and finance organization as the facility scales
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team
• Create scalable accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting processes
• Design and implement month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting for plant leadership decision-making
• Partner with Corporate Accounting to support compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
• Own manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, labor and overhead absorption, and manufacturing cost analysis
• Develop and maintain product costing methodologies to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting
• Analyze manufacturing variances, inventory performance, labor efficiency, material usage, and operational trends to drive cost reduction and profitability improvement
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning
• Perform customer profitability, pricing, gross margin, and price-volume-mix analyses
• Support capital investment decisions and long-range operational planning
• Develop inventory accounting processes, cost center structures, and physical inventory programs
• Establish financial processes for construction-in-progress (CIP), capital projects, and production reporting
• Lead ERP implementation activities, including financial configuration, testing, and process optimization
• Build internal control documentation and standardized financial workflows
• Support factory commissioning, operational readiness, and production startup activities
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Human Resources, and executive leadership
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, operational excellence, and financial process optimization
• Support tax incentive programs, audits, compliance activities, and manufacturing finance initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong manufacturing accounting and cost accounting background, including standard costing, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience leading month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Proven success partnering with manufacturing and operational leadership
• Experience developing financial models and providing strategic business analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build strong cross-functional relationships

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
• Experience leading ERP implementations or manufacturing finance transformation initiatives
• Experience supporting multiple operating entities and intercompany accounting
• Public accounting experience
• Experience supporting manufacturing startups, greenfield facilities, plant expansions, or large capital projects
• Experience developing finance organizations, internal controls, and scalable accounting processes from the ground up

Work Schedule

• Full-time, exempt position
• Onsite in Terre Haute, Indiana
• Monday through Friday
• Additional hours may be required occasionally during month-end close, ERP implementation, production startup, and other key business initiatives
