Healthcare Finance Decision Support Manager

Bayhealth is seeking a Healthcare Finance Decision Support Manager to lead cost accounting and decision support activities from its Dover campus. The role centers on analyzing service line profitability, supporting budgeting and strategic financial planning, and overseeing STRATA-based reporting to external rating agencies.

Responsibilities

• Create financial feasibility analyses and cost/reimbursement templates within STRATA to evaluate capital investments, calculating ROI, payback period, NPV, IRR, and other metrics used to compare projects.
• Schedule regular meetings with executive leadership to assess profitability by service line.
• Support the development of performance improvement plans for service lines that show unfavorable variances to budget.
• Verify updates to cost structures for accuracy.
• Complete surveys and annual insurance renewal applications, compile data for FEMA and Single Audits, and prepare reports for GME reporting.
• Document operational and administrative decisions that affect finance, labor utilization, and budget development.
• Train managers and directors to interpret and use productivity software.
• Oversee ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
• Produce reports required for annual financial audits, cost report filings, and STRATA–driven community benefit reporting.
• Provide mentorship to the supervisor of decision support and the special projects analyst.
• Offer oversight for software implementations as needed, including components of ERP and leasing software.
• Assist with the implementation of the STRATA forecasting module.
• Carry out additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• None required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in cost accounting, budgeting and/or decision support.
• Experience with STRATA financial software or similar systems.
• Healthcare experience.
• Experience working with STRATA healthcare finance software.
