Job Description
The Vice President of Finance and Administration will oversee the financial, administrative, and accounting functions for LFG Homes from the CEO’s office in a high-growth, multi-entity homebuilding environment. This role blends hands-on execution with strategic input to support growth, asset management, and long-term value creation. This onsite position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
- Oversee in-house accounting for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure timely monthly close and reconciliation of all accounts.
- Establish and maintain GAAP-compliant accounting policies and internal controls.
- Coordinate year-end adjustments with the CPA firm.
- Monitor cash flow across multiple operating entities and optimize liquidity.
- Manage ACH setups, transfers, and account activity across multiple financial institutions.
- Maintain strong working relationships with financial institutions.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including reports prepared for the board.
- Analyze job costing, overhead, and project performance to inform operational decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term capital planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to plan growth strategies and asset management.
- Oversee renewals and compliance for corporate and project-level insurance programs.
- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, long-term disability, life, and 401(k).
- Manage payroll operations through ADP, including deductions, reimbursements, and terminations.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and adequate funding to meet obligations.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with policy.
- Ensure compliance for more than 30 entities within the LFG structure.
- Coordinate tax filings, annual reports, and real estate and fixtures and equipment tax payments.
- Oversee K-1 review and collaborate with external tax advisors.
- Evaluate and scale finance systems (QuickBooks, MarkSystems, ECI) to match company growth.
- Automate workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Strengthen financial controls and employee expense systems.
- Oversee office operations including vendor management, equipment, and facilities support.
- Maintain service contracts, leases, and overall operational integrity.
Requirements
- Proven leadership in accounting, financial reporting, and operations management.
- Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and multi-entity management.
- Successful track record in a high-growth or entrepreneurial setting.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Construction or real estate industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
