Accounting & Financial Project Manager

SMC Corporation of America seeks an Accounting and Financial Project Manager to advance financial and accounting excellence through strategic project leadership, rigorous analysis, and ongoing process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive financial analyses to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support or lead core accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close activities.
• Head and contribute to finance and accounting projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely, effective delivery.
• Design and implement continuous process improvement initiatives across finance and accounting operations.
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency to manage tasks and deliver results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial and operational efficiencies.
• Oversee the integration of financial systems and technologies, safeguarding data integrity and streamlined workflows.
• Provide thorough financial reporting and insightful presentations to senior management, highlighting trends and recommendations.
• Act as a subject matter expert on accounting principles and financial best practices, offering guidance and training to team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in an accounting and/or finance role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Proven project management experience, capable of driving initiatives from concept to completion.
• Flexible and adaptable, thriving in a dynamic work environment.
• Get things done mindset with a focus on efficiency and results.
• Strong sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement principles.
• Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end closing is a significant advantage.
• Experience in ERP implementation or related would be a big plus.
