Manager Financial Planning and Analysis

Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital is hiring a Financial Planning and Analysis leader to manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and capital planning for operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate the annual budget process in collaboration with the leadership team and WVU Medicine’s corporate FP&A department.
• Lead and manage complex financial projects in partnership with appropriate leadership.
• Establish and maintain robust financial processes and operational protocols, including analysis of new opportunities, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of financial results.
• Oversee the capital budgeting process for operations in accordance with WVU Medicine capital budget procedures and policies.
• Manage ongoing actual-to-budget performance improvement and margin enhancement opportunities; communicate results and recommendations to Finance and operational leadership.
• Direct and evaluate financial processes to maximize efficiency in daily operations.
• Coordinate financial analysis supporting new services, provider and staffing needs, and long-term strategic initiatives.
• Oversee the work and development of the relevant financial analyst team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field plus five (5) + years of finance experience.
• Indirect or direct supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership ability, strong organization, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
• Knowledge of legal aspects and liability for the functional area.
• Ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a diverse audience.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with health system financial reporting, budgeting, financial planning, and other healthcare reporting techniques.
• Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Master’s degree in finance preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Ability to complete Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check through the PA State Police system.

Location and Work Setup

• Location: Greensburg, PA
• Work mode: Hybrid
• Incumbent scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
• Local travel between System locations may be expected.
