Decision Support Lead - Financial Strategy Partner

What You’ll Do

Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership at Nebraska Medicine, helping shape and execute financial strategy that supports organizational mission and goals. You will lead long-term strategic financial projections and provide critical analysis to translate financial or clinical needs into business requirements.

• Lead the organization’s process for long-term strategic financial projections.
• Perform executive-level analysis, reporting, and service line and feasibility studies to inform mission and operational decision-making.
• Manage the underlying patient data that serves as the baseline for monthly Physician wRVU calculations.
• Develop and deliver service line analysis, business plans, and project feasibility studies.
• Analyze requests for information and create custom reports to provide accurate, timely insights to executive leadership, management, physicians, and clinical staff.
• Advise and recommend improvements based on data analysis and interpretation.
• Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning through completion, partnering across Finance, Operations, and clinical areas.

What You Bring

• Minimum five years of experience leading large, complex projects and analysis in healthcare and/or information systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information technology, management engineering, or business administration.
• Proven strength in analytical modeling and data analysis using large, complex datasets.
• Understanding and experience with physician compensation plans and reporting.
• Experience managing organizational strategic long-range modeling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse customer interactions.
• Experience leading analysis for financial and operational improvement through data interpretation.
• Experience leading and participating in teams to apply collective expertise to business challenges and improvements.
• Excellent presentation ability to explain complex financial information clearly to a range of groups, including executive leaders.
• Experience translating broad questions into meaningful trends, recommendations, and business insight.
• Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to deliver a comprehensive work product to end users.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Tools & Technologies

You’ll leverage analytics and reporting platforms including Strata, Epic, Workday, Tableau, Xcelsius, Cognos, Cogito, ArcMap, Crystal report writing, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).

Location, Schedule, and Consideration

• Omaha, NE (hybrid); candidate must be able to work on campus.
• Candidate must live in Nebraska or Iowa.
• Shift: First Shift (United States of America).
• Preferred consideration for applicants with Strata, Epic, and Workday experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Working experience across multiple aspects of the healthcare system (care delivery, clinical operations, finance, patient access, insurance, revenue cycle) preferred.
• Comprehensive database knowledge, including query and Crystal report writing skills preferred.
• Knowledge of cost behavior, managed care reimbursement, business planning, and financial feasibility studies preferred.
• Knowledge of medical records coding terminology preferred.
• Track record of driving innovation in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Expert knowledge and strong interest in Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.
