Job Description
Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service offers an on-site Director of Finance role in Saint Charles, Missouri, with a yearly salary range of $70,000 to $75,000. Overview
The Director of Finance leads all accounting operations and financial management for the agency. This leadership role covers reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance, and supports every area of the organization including Operations, Administration, Programs, and Development. The successful candidate will advance the organization’s mission to serve those in crisis and prevent homelessness and hunger through sound financial leadership.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present internal and external financial reporting and analysis
- Lead budgeting and forecasting for the fiscal year as well as for individual grants and programs
- Enter and reconcile general ledger data, performing reviews and analyses
- Review and reconcile payroll submissions and related reports
- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial health
- Attend and contribute to quarterly Governing Board meetings
- Plan and chair quarterly Finance Committee meetings
- Pursue ongoing professional development in nonprofit finance, GAAP, and grant compliance
- Support the annual independent audit with work papers, schedules, and reconciliations
- Collaborate with fellow directors to provide financial information as needed
- Participate in leadership meetings, reaccreditation efforts, organizational planning, and cross-department collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, integrity, and effectiveness of the finance function and the agency
- Maintain professional interactions with a broad range of stakeholders, including the Archdiocese of St. Louis, the governing board, clients, funders, bankers, donors, landlords, and vendors
- Supervise and evaluate a direct report and volunteers
Requirements
- Proven track record as a senior finance leader with deep nonprofit accounting experience
- Strong written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders including coworkers, direct reports, donors, clients, funders, and the Archdiocese of St. Louis
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Discretion due to access to confidential information
- Collaborative approach with coworkers and external partners
- Commitment to maintaining and improving the integrity of Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service
- Ability to multi-task and stay productive amid interruptions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- CPA certification preferred
- Nonprofit accounting experience is highly desired
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft 365
