Job Description

Take on a contract role that supports organizations with accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and compliant grant accounting. This hybrid position in Austin, TX offers a flexible schedule and work from home options while you apply your expertise across financial statements, audits, internal controls, and accounting process improvements.

Pay: $40.00 to $75.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reporting to support accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Deliver consulting on grant-related matters, including grant reporting preparation and compliance reviews.
  • Support clients with governmental accounting requirements and help ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Assist with audits of financial records by identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with clients to implement accounting systems and processes that improve operational efficiency.
  • Help clients prepare for audits by supporting internal control mapping, business workflow alignment, and responses to procurement solicitations.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting practices and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience creating financial reports that communicate complex information clearly.
  • Familiarity with major ERP systems and specialized SaaS financial applications, plus Microsoft Power Platform tools including Teams, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for identifying errors or discrepancies in financial data, preferably using advanced Excel, AI, and Tableau for analysis.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to clients.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree (required).
