Job Description
The Finance and Accounting Manager role at Balluff Inc. is based onsite in Florence, Kentucky, focusing on hands-on accounting operations, financial reporting, and close processes. The position emphasizes operational support for budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while leading a small finance team and remaining actively engaged in daily accounting work, reporting, and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Direct the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, fixed asset records, and cash flow oversight.
- Oversee monthly and annual close activities to ensure precise results in line with GAAP, applicable regulations, and internal policies.
- Create, review, and present financial statements, forecasts, and performance insights to senior leadership.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles, conduct variance analyses, and provide recommendations.
- Track financial performance, including costs, pricing, margins, and operational trends.
- Coordinate audits and collaborate with external auditors, tax professionals, and service providers to uphold compliance and internal controls.
- Support U.S. accounting, payroll, tax, and regulatory compliance, including multi-state requirements.
- Maintain banking relationships, auditors, insurance providers, and other external financial partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, supply chain, HR, and leadership to inform business decisions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies within finance and accounting.
- Leverage SAP FI/CO and other financial systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Support global reporting requirements and respond to requests from Headquarters in Germany, ensuring alignment with corporate accounting policies.
- Lead, coach, and develop finance team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional and regional projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, including month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting in a structured ERP environment, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Experience with SAP FI/CO is required.
- Experience in financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and multi-state tax and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across regional and global teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standard office environment with primarily seated, computer-based work.
- Frequent use of ERP and financial systems including SAP FI/CO.
- May require extended hours during month-end close, audits, and reporting cycles.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Florence, KY. This is an onsite role; relocation is not available.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
