Job Description
The Finance Manager will oversee a multi-million dollar budget for a not-for-profit organization on Chicago's northwest side, working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to manage all aspects of the organization’s finances.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage cash flow and daily treasury activities
- Perform account reconciliations and monthly closing
- Maintain the organization’s filing system and documentation
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Develop and manage the fiscal budget
- Conduct monthly variance analyses
- Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and FASB standards
- Coordinate with outside auditors in preparation for the annual audit
- Collaborate with the tax accountant on tax return preparation
- Prepare and present financial information to the Board of Directors
- Compile the annual report
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Experience with Sage or Peachtree accounting software preferred
- Valid driver’s license required, no felony convictions, and ability to pass FBI and DHS federal background screening
