GMX Finance Manager

eBay Inc. is hiring a Finance Manager for its Global Marketplace Experience (GMX) finance team in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on financial consolidation, strategic OPEX and resource management, and operational excellence through data-driven planning and reporting.

Role Overview

As a strategic finance partner to eBay Services, you will lead end-to-end FP&A activities and deliver insights that support forecasting, hiring, and operational decision-making. The position emphasizes rigorous OPEX planning, process optimization, and clear performance reporting for senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end FP&A activities, including Commercial and Product budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, month-end close processes, and ad-hoc analysis.
• Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across deliverables, identifying opportunities to improve and optimize processes.
• Strengthen operational excellence and OPEX rigor by implementing AI into financial planning and refining planning tools, processes, and frameworks with operational efficiency in mind.
• Create and deliver reporting packages and dashboards that provide senior leadership with data-driven insights.
• Surface trends, risks, and opportunities to enable proactive decisions and resource allocation.
• Partner with business, finance, and corporate stakeholders to align on goals, integrate initiatives, and ensure consistency across functions.
• Provide financial guidance and challenge assumptions constructively to support business strategy.
• Standardize financial planning and reporting processes to reduce duplication and non-value-added work.
• Consolidate multiple inputs and priorities into clear, actionable recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
• 5+ years of finance experience with exposure to areas such as business analysis, accounting, and FP&A.
• Demonstrated data and analytics-driven approach, with a proven impact on decision-making across organizational levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of partnering effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Ability to operate in a matrixed organization supporting multiple partners across different geographies in a complex, ambiguous environment.
• Robust financial analysis capabilities, including building and maintaining financial models, with strong technical skills in spreadsheets and presentations.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan and SAP (including SAP 4 HANA, SAP BPC, SAP BW).
• Experience working with AI tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, and others to enhance existing processes.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary (San Jose, CA): USD 115,000 - 125,000 per year.

Additional Information

• The applicable base pay range depends on work location; for the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro, and Seattle Metro, the expected range is 150,000-160,000.
• Base pay offered may vary based on individualized factors including location, skills, and experience.
