Manager - BCG Vantage, Corporate Finance & Strategy

Boston Consulting Group’s BCG Vantage brings deep domain expertise, data, and advanced analytics to support BCG’s consulting agenda. In the Client Focus track, this Manager role is embedded within client case teams, delivering client-ready analysis while leading case modules and workstreams. A substantial portion of time is spent onsite with clients, translating findings into scalable knowledge assets and supporting proposals and business development.

Role overview

• Serve as a domain expert within BCG Vantage’s Client Focus (CF) track, bringing specialized expertise directly to clients as part of case teams.
• Work alongside case and proposal teams to produce actionable insights, knowledge assets, and client-ready output.
• Act as a thought partner to topic leadership, case teams, and senior client stakeholders by structuring complex problems, distilling insights, and shaping polished deliverables.
• Spend a significant proportion of time at client sites as an integral member of the case team, participating in meetings, interviews, workshops, and demos.

What you’ll do

• Independently lead and execute case modules, managing your own and junior colleagues’ workstreams while maintaining quality and business priority awareness.
• Develop and own module workplans, lead scope definition with case teams in internal and client meetings, apply hypothesis-based thinking, and adapt to scope changes.
• Execute high-quality, client-customized analyses; oversee and synthesize case team contributions into clear recommendations.
• Present findings credibly in internal meetings, SteerCos, and client settings, adjusting communication depth to the audience’s seniority.
• Build direct client relationships and earn respect as the go-to domain expert recognized by senior Consulting Team stakeholders (PLs, Partners, MDPs).
• Translate case learnings into scalable IP and knowledge assets, and collaborate with CT topic leaders and Expert CT on publications, conference materials, and practice area assets.
• Support proposals and business development by contributing insight and structured thinking in project meetings and working sessions.
• Mentor Vantage and junior CT colleagues through regular feedback and development support.
• Contribute to tool build staffing investments and ad hoc expert advisory requests from senior CT and ECT.

AI and finance transformation focus

• Identify high-value AI and GenAI use cases across finance process towers, including reporting automation, variance analysis, forecasting, close acceleration, anomaly detection, working capital optimization, and management insights.
• Translate finance business problems into AI-enabled solutions by partnering with data science, technology, risk, and business stakeholders to shape feasible pilots and scalable implementations.
• Apply AI tools responsibly to accelerate problem solving, analysis, synthesis, document creation, and knowledge development while maintaining quality control, confidentiality, and human judgment.
• Assess AI readiness across finance processes, including data quality, process standardization, technology landscape, operating model implications, and governance requirements.
• Apply responsible AI principles covering data privacy, confidentiality, model limitations, bias, explainability, and appropriate human oversight.
• Understand data, process, governance, and change-management requirements to move AI solutions from proof of concept to embedded business adoption.

Required qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Business, Economics, or equivalent) with a strong academic record.
• 6+ years of consulting or deep industry experience in the domain; consulting experience is preferred.
• Proven track record leading complex, client-facing analyses and delivering actionable recommendations, including managing workstreams and guiding junior colleagues.
• Strong hypothesis-based problem solving and structured thinking, with an entrepreneurial mindset focused on business priorities and commercial impact.
• Confident client presence and strong relationship-building skills across operational staff to C-suite.
• Hands-on experience using AI, GenAI, analytics, or automation tools to improve productivity, insight generation, or project outcomes.
• Ability to assess AI readiness across finance processes, including governance requirements.
• Familiarity with responsible AI principles, including privacy, confidentiality, model limitations, bias, explainability, and human oversight.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to articulate value with clarity and logical flow across stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
• Deep domain expertise in at least one area such as finance organization (including shared services), finance function transformation, external and internal reporting, corporate governance, performance management, planning, budgeting and target setting, corporate risk management, AI-based transformation, or similar.
• Deep end-to-end expertise across finance process towers including Record to Report, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Financial Planning & Analysis, Cash & Banking / Treasury, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.

Location and compensation

• Location: Dallas, TX (onsite)
• Salary range: USD 148,400 - 154,000 per year
• US compensation transparency (US locations only): total compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market-leading benefits package.

• Bonus and retirement contribution: bonus of up to 26%; retirement contribution starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
