Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

R+L Carriers is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to steer budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis from its Wilmington, Ohio site. This role partners with the Corporate Controller, VP of Accounting & Finance, and operational leaders to support planning, performance insights, and strategic initiatives that shape the business trajectory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning initiatives.
• Compile monthly financial reporting packages with variance analysis and executive summaries.
• Build and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and operational decision making.
• Evaluate revenue, operating expenses, labor costs, capital investments, and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with department leaders to develop budgets, enhance financial performance, and inform business decisions.
• Support capital expenditure planning, business case development, and ROI analyses.
• Assist with month-end close by working with the Accounting team to improve forecast accuracy and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, processes, automation, and data quality through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Present financial analyses and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Seven to ten years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or related finance leadership roles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate across functions, and influence decision making.
• Proven ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
