Patient Financial Navigator

The Patient Financial Navigator at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Clearwater, FL, supports patients by overseeing and updating the financial and insurance details needed for appropriate diagnosis and coverage. This onsite role combines patient financial monitoring with daily Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator tasks, helping ensure insurance benefits are current and accurately reflected in the practice systems.

Role Focus

You will monitor and collect patients’ financial responsibilities, while also keeping insurance benefits up to date to support diagnosis-related services. The position includes daily workflow responsibilities tied to Managed Care and patient financial navigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and collect patients’ financial responsibilities.
• Maintain current patient insurance benefits in OncoEMR and Centricity.
• Review patients’ services to support diagnosis alignment and insurance coverage appropriateness.
• Perform daily tasks associated with Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator functions.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working in a healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting or business office.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of the managed care authorization process.
• Familiarity with ICD10 codes.
• Collection experience.
• Ability to calculate and collect patients’ responsibility, including insurance co-pay and coinsurance.
