Job Description

Day Kimball Healthcare is looking for a Reimbursement Manager, Finance to support accurate reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and data-driven financial decision-making onsite in Putnam, CT. This full-time, exempt role (40 hours per week) operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In this position, you will bring together healthcare reimbursement analysis, reporting, and audit readiness, while helping drive operational initiatives through improved data accuracy and efficient processes. What you’ll do

  • Maintain accurate, timely reimbursement information for third-party payers, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Prepare financial and statistical reports, including Medicare DRG payment analyses and reimbursement evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain databases that support allocation statistics, physician information, and Medicare cost reporting requirements.
  • Support Medicare Cost Report preparation, including expense analysis, statistical data collection, and regulatory documentation.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including net revenue reporting and analysis.
  • Support year-end financial audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
  • Contribute to hospital operating budget development focused on gross and net revenue projections, patient volumes, charge structures, coding accuracy, and financial system interfaces.
  • Conduct financial analyses and special studies tied to Medicare Cost Reports, regulatory filings, surveys, and operational initiatives.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal departments, government agencies, and third-party auditors.
  • Use specialized healthcare finance tools, reimbursement systems, contract management tools, general ledger systems, and patient accounting platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and reimbursement performance.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain flexibility to support department and organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance professional competencies through ongoing education and incorporation of industry best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) (preferred).
  • Healthcare reimbursement experience (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement processes (preferred).
  • Knowledge of healthcare financial reporting and cost reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including spreadsheet software and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with healthcare financial systems, patient accounting systems, and general ledger applications (preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with finance leadership, operational teams, auditors, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to support organizational change and process improvement initiatives.
